Our Country, Our Ngura

Ngura is the Pitjantjatjara, Yankunytjatjara and Ngaanyatjarra word for ‘country’.

Ngura describes the geography of the land, the place that someone belongs to, including family, language, identity and history.

Aṉangu are the traditional custodians of this part of the Central Desert.

Walkatjara Art Uluru is Mutitjulu Community’s Art Centre, owned and directed by Aṉangu. Most artists live and work in Mutitjulu, but many have family connections across the desert.
