Loretta Carroll

About Loretta Carroll

Loretta Carroll grew up in Mutitjulu Community with her parents, three sisters and brother. She went to school in Mutitjulu and Nyangatjatjara College in Yulara, where she later worked as a teacher’s aid.
She learned to paint by watching her aunt, Millie Coulthard who also taught her the Tjukurpa stories.
She loves to paint Pantu (salt lakes) as it brings back happy memories of visiting them with her family, as a little girl.

Loretta is carving a niche style of bush medicine paintings, using a range of blues and greens to capture the movement of leaves in the win.

Loretta Carroll is open to commission pieces, please contact art@walkatjara.com for prices, sizes and colours. We cannot guarantee it will happen straight away due to community life but we will try our best.
