”I was born in Kalka, South Australia. I grew up in Kanpi, finishing school in Year 12. I learnt to paint from my grandmother on my mother’s side, Maringka Baker, always watching her paint all those lines and circles. I also learnt her tjukurpa story, Minyma Kutjara (Two Women), which came through my great-grandmother. I now live and paint in Mutitjulu at Uluru.” -Julie Woods 2022
