The painting you have looked up depicts Minyma Kutjara (two women). This is the Creation Law Story of the two women who travelled through the artist’s ancestral country on a long journey which stretches across the Central Desert of Australia.

Like all the Creation Ancestors, the two women formed parts of the landscape and left behind information about good living, coded in their story for the countless generations of women since that time to follow.

Anangu feel strongly about continuing to teach and learn Tjukurpa and their art is important and vital work. It sustains them economically, physically and culturally. It keeps the stories and traditions alive.
